»Posted by on Jan 21, 2019 in Garden | 0 comments

You know there are just some people who love to grow things. May they be flowers or vegetables. It is always a good idea to have one for yourself. If you live in the city or in an area where you just don’t have much space in your area, you can still have an awesome garden that you can grow plants in. It is known as a standing garden or vertical gardens for some. It’s an awesome way of recycling pallets and having a great use for them.

There are a couple of things you need but of course you can find them just about anywhere. The number one ingredient for this garden is the pallet. You can get pallets from warehouses or grocery supermarkets, sometimes you just have to ask permission and they would give it to your free, however, when you are planning to plant vegetables or something edible in the pallet it would be better to get your pallet from a company or at least a pallet that you are sure that is either heat treated Pallet Houston TX or something that is food grade safe. You don’t want some nasty chemicals in the woods because you might be putting yourself in jeopardy in the long run.

Here are the things that you will need for your vertical garden besides the obvious PALLET.

1. Quality Potting Soil
2. Plants (Seeds) depending on the season you may have to make some adjustments.
3. Landscape fabric or weed cloth
4. Sandpaper
5. Staple gun
6. Mounting Brackets (this one if you want it to be a lot safer but this is really just optional)
7. Protective Gloves

Here are the methods of creating your very own vertical garden. It isn’t so hard and it is something that you can literally make do for yourself.

1. Make sure that you have everything that you need before you start the project. It is always nice to have everything mise en place. It just makes the job a whole lot quicker and a lot less of a hassle.

2. Next, prep your pallet. Sand down your pallet to make sure that it isn’t a rough surface that you have to deal with every time. So, smooth it down, and make sure that nails are secure and that there is nothing protruding from it. Don’t forget to wear your gloves for more protection.

3. So now it’s time to put the weed cloth to each level of the pallet. The side with the biggest opening would be the back of the pallet. The entire back, the side and each level of the pallet would have weed cloth covering it.

4. It’s time for you to fill the garden, if you want to mount the garden this may be the time to do it. This place should be a place that is ideal for the plants. Sunlight and the such should be considered.

5. When the potting soil and the plants are transfer you only have to water your vertical garden liberally and wait for it to grow. After that it is felicitations for a job well done.
